  • Inspector’s role in reducing forklift accidents & liability exposure
  • Setting up a forklift inspection program
  • OSHA & ANSI inspection requirements
  • The three levels of inspection
  • Forklift inspection procedures and techniques
  • Recognizing and understanding the differences between deficiencies & safety hazards
  • Correct way to write inspection reports that provide the proper documentation
  • Inspecting structural components, hooks, operating mechanisms, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems, hydraulic cylinders, wire rope, operational aids, and safety devices
  • Structural, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and safety/liability areas of inspection
  • When to perform a non-destructive crack detection test
  • Pre-operational inspection
  • Forklift setup and recognizing site hazards
  • Safe operating practices & procedures
  • Operator responsibilities
  • Working near power lines and electrical hazards
  • Hand signals
  • Basic rigging procedures

Course Completion

Requirements for Inspector Certification

  • Complete the Crane Institute of America Forklift Inspector training program
  • Possess the physical ability to perform inspections of forklifts
  • Have a minimum of two years forklift experience working in operation, maintenance, repair, inspection, safety or supervision (A trainee certification is available for personnel who do not meet experience requirements)
  • Pass a written examination

Advanced registration, along with full payment, is required to secure your spot. 

Full payment is due at the time of registration and can be made via certified cheque, direct deposit, or wire transfer.

Cancellations & Refunds

All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing.

Registrations that are invoiced, paid, or guaranteed and cancelled in writing before the registration deadline will receive a full refund, less a TT$680 service fee.

For cancellations made up to 7 days before the course’s start date, 50% of the registration fee will be refunded.

For cancellation requests received less than 7 days before the course’s start date, no refunds or credits will be issued.

If for any reason, TIS cancels a course, you will be notified at least five (5) days in advance, and a full refund will be issued.

TIS reserves the right to cancel courses if minimum enrollment requirements are not met.
