Ultrasonic
Inspection
| Contact Ultrasonic examination
provides highly reliable, fast and efficient inspection of ferrous and
non-ferrous metals, as well as non-metals.
This technique offers two different types of inspection based on
your requirements for both thickness testing and flaw detection.
Ultrasonics offers the advantage of examining components without
removal or disassembly and is highly valued for in-service inspections. |
 |
| Extremely safe
in the field when compared to Radiography UT is also fast becoming a cost
efficient replacement. TIS’s
equipment is ultra portable and well suited for in-field examinations. |

Thickness gauging
has become a standard service for offshore facilities and petrochemical
plants where equipment integrity is the difference between profit and
loss. We have upgraded our services by acquiring Datalogging
“A” scan DMS & DMS2 Thickness Meters from Krautkramer Branson with
on board Data Recorder and UltraMATE Thickness Data Management System with
colour reporting facilities.
|
 |
| These units can store up to 80,000 readings and
can download to any PC.
They also have the advantage of reading steel thickness through
coating surfaces without removal of coating. |
Flaw Detection is also a standard service used to ensure
conformance to spec, identification, and sizing of defects for repair as
is required. Flaw detection has also been proven useful when radiography
is not feasible owing to the geometry or when the thickness of the part
being examined is large or when the hazards of radiography cannot be
accommodated. |
 |
| Here again we have turned to the highly
dependable equipment from Krautkramer Branson with their USN52 series of
flaw detection equipment. With
ultrasonic performance and time saving features that meet the needs of our
most demanding clients these units ensure that our Level II certified
technicians can get the job done efficiently giving you the information
that you need |
