REFRACTORY DEGRADATION |
Before the shutdown of this Auxiliary Boiler the client was able to
find problem areas where refractory was beginning to deteriorate. At the time of
shutdown the extent of the problem was already, know materials had been
ordered and repairs were completed in a timely fashion. |

BRICK FURNACE |
| Brick Furnaces have a certain life span depending upon their usage. This client
has us monitor his furnace wall on a regular basis so he can specify its remaining
lifetime and ensure that a major refractory burn through does not happen. He
knows well in advance when to plan for a rebuild or repair. |

ELECTRIC MOTORS |
| Electric Motors are perfect items to be surveyed by Infrared. Looking at the Bell side
of the drive shaft can indicate possible problems with the wiring, inadequate/excessive
lubrication of bearings, and problems with drive links. |
